What does Toby Keith know about copywriting?

Is your web sales copy or newsletter generating the kind of
income that you are really hoping for? If not, you can turn

QUESTION: What does Toby Keith know about copywriting?
ANSWER: Hmmmm... not sure. The jury's out based on the
following lyrics from his #1 hit song, "I Wanna Talk About Me".

I like talking about you, usually, but occassionally

Do you enjoy Toby Keith's music? I do. It's fun stuff,
and he has that "man's man's" voice.
Your copywriting can talk about yourself *occassionally*,
but the majority of your words should address your reader and
his or her (notice I didn't say their) concerns.
Alex Sampson is a quiet, gentle, yet powerful voice online.
He's an authority when it comes to copywriting, and he offers
three questions that you should ask yourself about your copy...
1) Does this stir my reader's emotion?
2) Does this stir my reader's imagination?
3) Does this stir my reader to action?
Skillful writing is a critical component of successful
marketing. It's true both online and offline.
Pull out any article or sales copy that you've written
recently. Now read through it and as you do so, continually
ask yourself the above three questions.
How'd you do? Are you hitting on all 3 cylinders? Or
are you 2 of 3, or 1 of 3, or... If you nail #1 and #2 but
totally miss #3, what are your chances of succeeding?
Writing is hard work.
My father has a saying that goes, "This (name your topic)
is my second favorite thing to do. Second only to repeatedly
bashing my head against a tree."
If writing is your "second favorite" thing to do, you're
not alone. But it doesn't have to be that way. Look to
experts who can put some fun back into writing. One of my
all-time favorite copywriting coaches is Joe "Mr. Fire" Vitale.
Joe's an amazing coach. He'll make you believe you can
do anything, and he's absolutely right! Listen to what Joe
has to say and you'll begin to feel an invigorating and
exciting creative surge from deep within.
Emotion. Imagination. Action.
Create killer copywriting that sells.
