My URL's have been really snippy lately!

Short and Sweet URL's - If it ain't broke, no one will need
to fix it.
How loooooooonnnnnnnggggggggg is your URL?
If your website URL or affiliate link is so long that it
gets broken up in the course of formatting your newsletter
or ezine ad, most people won't take the time to try and figure
out why it doesn't work. This is simply potential traffic
that you'll never see.
My website URL for Internet Marketing Power Tools is
somewhat long. I like this site name because it's keyword
rich, and at least gives you some idea of the site's focus.
Unfortunately, as the site hierarchy is built, some URL's
end up being 90+ characters.
Example:
==> http://www.internetmarketingpowertools.com/automated-order-systems/third-party-processors.html
94 characters! That's not good when you're formatting your
newsletter to 60 or 65 characters, which is standard practice
for plain text email newsletters. At 94 characters, your URL
could very easily get broken, depending on what email client
your readers are using.
Following are a few options that effectively eliminate this
long URL problem.

URL "snippers" are a terrific little invention that have
become available online in the last year or two. For the most
part they're fre, but some are "fr-ee-er" than others.
What I am referring to here is the fact that some no charge
online URL snipping services will tag exit traffic pop-ups
onto your visitor's click-throughs. So, if you are using their
service to shorten your URL and someone clicks through your
"snipped" link, they will be delivered to your target site,
but shortly thereafter your visitor will be shown either a
pop-under or an exit pop that may potentially steal their
attention away from the product or service you want them to
see.
If you can avoid this situation (and you can), you'll
experience better results from your marketing efforts.
Additional features that may be available from online
URL snippers include...
1) Assign your own nickname to your URL. This service offers
you a certain degree of control over how your snipped URL
will look.
2) Protected / Private / Cloaked URLs. If you'd prefer
that your reader not be able to see the target URL destination,
a protected URL is the answer.
3) Snip multiple URL's all at the same time. Great time
saver.
4) Statistics and tracking of your snipped URL's.
5) Export your snipped URL's to an Excel spreadsheet and
save a local copy on your computer. This provides you with a
quick and easy reference without the need for a live internet
connection.
This snipping thing is becoming habit forming. I'm beginning
to really appreciate this service. I think you will too.
